Following a sell out inaugural rag rug workshop & back by popular demand, Sarah Greenwood will teach this traditional art of rag or hooked rug making. All materials are supplied, including the hessian and the hook. Do please bring your own old jumpers/ cotton tea shirts if you would like to use them in your design, otherwise Sarah will bring a selection of fabrics you can use. Fabrics with stretch work best.

During this workshop Sarah will teach the hooked rug technique ,help with the design and be on hand to help. We will sit together around one large table in Sarah Nelson's hempcrete studio which affords stunning views out to the meadow and the distant north Pennines. While we work on our rugs Sarah Greenwood will keep us entertained with historical facts and stories of this traditional art form.

Sarah will have a number of different 'hooks' available to try and buy. It is unlikely a rug will be completely finished in this single sitting so you may wish to buy your own 'hook' in order to continue your rug in your own time.
