Life Drawing at The Witham, Barnard Castle (block one)

About this course

Life drawing isn't just about learning to draw the figure. It's about learning to really look.

Block one is a three week block on Tuesday evenings in The Witham Room at The Witham ,Barnard Castle. Running from Tuesday 22nd September-Tuesday 6th October 6.30-8.30pm

These regular classes will afford opportunity to study the human form, consider proportion and composition. Each class will vary but all will begin with some dynamic, quick poses to loosen up our drawing, then keeping that energy in our drawings focus on some deeper studies with two or three longer poses.

This is a 2 hour class , we will pause for a quick cuppa at half time and discuss our drawings.

Working from A3 drawing boards, you will be encouraged to try drawing from a standing position. Chairs are available for those that require them.

Materials to bring : A3 size cartridge paper + A3 size newsprint , a box of medium sized charcoal sticks
