About this course

Outside in the three acre hay meadow, we will spend the morning making multiple drawings of the high Dales' landscape in our sketch books. We will learn how to be selective in what we chose to draw, to draw what we see and from a point of view that interests us ,creating individual work. There will also be the opportunity for discussion after each study.

This morning workshop will aim to encourage carrying a small sketch book with you every day and give you the confidence to draw anywhere in your own unique way.

We will use pencils, charcoal and brush and watercolour, all materials that we can easily carry with us
all materials, including sketch book, included.

We will take a 20 minute break mid morning for tea/coffee/cake
As this is a morning only workshop, lunch is not included, but you are welcome to bring a picnic and stay for an hour after class finishes

If you have your own drawing kit and favourite sketch book you are of course welcome to bring and use them but everything you’ll need will be here for you if not.

Event FAQs

Is car parking available at the Studios?

Car parking is easy at Mole Studios , the studio door is a few yards from the car park .

Please note that the landscaping is not finished and that there is a step up from ground level into the studio.

Who are the classes for?

The studio is a space for anyone: beginners who want to loosen up or more experienced artists who wish to bring greater energy and immediacy to their work. My classes are designed to gently reconnect with the joy of making art without pressure or judgment.

Here, art isn’t about being ‘good’ it’s about expression, confidence and finding your own unique way of seeing the world.
