Encourage energy and expression into your work during this full day drawing workshop. Drawing with paint, we will learn different ways of mark making, using a variety of and including home made tools to create colourful and dynamic notes from life. Using a limited colour palette, you will be encouraged to identify and draw broad overviews of the landscape.
Its February, so we will draw mainly from the inside looking out to the panoramic lands. If weather dry, I will encourage working outside for a short time.
Working directly from life our own lenses focus on what interests us, that is what we want to transfer into our drawing.
In 2026 the focus in the studio is on reuse of material, this workshop will encourage painting on packaging cardboard, newsprint and tissue paper, we will make our own cardboard combs and brushes.
Materials and hot lunch included

Event FAQs

Is car parking available at the Studios?

Car parking is easy at Mole Studios , the studio door is a few yards from the car park .

Please note that the landscaping is not finished and that there is a step up from ground level into the studio.

Who are the classes for?

The studio is a space for anyone: beginners who want to loosen up or more experienced artists who wish to bring greater energy and immediacy to their work. My classes are designed to gently reconnect with the joy of making art without pressure or judgment.

Here, art isn’t about being ‘good’ it’s about expression, confidence and finding your own unique way of seeing the world.
